Company History

     Mainland Office Supplies started life as Mainland Stationery in 1979 on Main Street in Pleasantville, NJ. It was owned and operated by Susan and David Broomell Sr. until health issues of a family member forced its sale. We (Kathy and David Broomell Jr.) purchased it on April Fool's day of 1986. We had been operating a computer business called KDB systems from 1983, selling and servicing computer systems that interfaced with cash registers. We changed the name of Mainland Stationery to Mainland Office Supplies, as the name stationery, implied primarily paper goods, cards and the like, and yet we sold over 28,000 items for your office, from desks, to papers, to machines, to paperclips. With the new name we merged our thriving computer business with the office products and in 1989, grew too large for our building on Main Street. We then purchased a building around the corner on 13 Grant Ave., later changed to 13 Martin Luther King Jr Ave., in Pleasantville, our present location.

 

    The office products business, as well as the computer business has grown over the past 20+ years, allowing us the buying power to compete easily with superstores. We specialize in networking of small to medium sized businesses with clients that have a single computer that "runs" their business to municipalities with various networks in various buildings, all communicating with each other. We have the skills and technicians to handle a municipality to the sole proprietor and pricing that both can afford. Our technicians are the real Geeks, with real training, in networking, Microsoft Small Business Server, programming and Microsoft Certification to name a few, not kids with fake badges that like to play computer games. Our computer service department provides outstanding service to more than 60% of the state with clients in New Brunswick to the North, Glassboro to the West, and Cape May to the South. In addition, we provide web hosting with support personnel that you can actually get on the phone and understand. We provide domain name registration, account setup, DNS transfers and email setup and administration, as well as graphic, website and flash design along with website management.

 

     We have the honor of providing our office and computer products to the Department of Defense and are a respected vendor on the DOD ecommerce website. We provide office and computer products nationwide to all purchasers on the DOD ecommerce site. This includes all branches of the Armed Forces, the Department of Homeland Security, the FAA, Air Marshals, Border Patrol and all the contractors providing services to the DOD, just to name a few. You get the privilege of being a vendor on that site by providing excellent service at low prices the same excellent service we provide to all of our customers.
